Beverly Osu Reveals Candid Reason for Dropping Out of Babcock University
Nigerian actress and model Beverly Osu has offered insight into her decision to drop out of university, shedding light on the challenges she faced while pursuing her burgeoning career in the entertainment industry.
In a candid conversation on the latest episode of The Discourse With Ken, Osu opened up about the pressures she encountered while juggling her academic pursuits with her growing prominence as a video vixen.
Osu recounted her experience at Babcock University, where she initially found success academically. However, her newfound visibility as a video vixen brought unwarranted scrutiny and criticism from her peers and the public alike.
“At the age of 16, I was already on TV as a video vixen. Nigerians didn’t fully understand the concept of a video vixen at the time, so I became a subject of criticism and ridicule. I would face repercussions at school every weekend due to the negative attention,” Osu revealed.
Despite her academic achievements, Osu felt increasingly uncomfortable with the restrictive environment at Babcock University and the constant scrutiny she faced. Ultimately, she made the difficult decision to leave the institution before the situation escalated further.
“I realized that I needed to leave before things took a turn for the worse. Babcock University is known for its strict policies, and I couldn’t thrive in such an environment while pursuing my passion,” Osu explained.
Addressing her parents’ reaction to her unconventional choice, Osu acknowledged initial resistance from her mother but emphasized her determination to pursue her dreams.
“While my mother initially expressed disappointment and concern about the financial investment in my education, she eventually came to understand my resolve. Despite the challenges, I remained steadfast in my belief that modeling was my true calling,” Osu reflected.
With her candid revelation, Beverly Osu offers a glimpse into the complex intersection of ambition, societal expectations, and personal fulfillment, highlighting the sacrifices and struggles inherent in pursuing one’s passions in the face of adversity.
