Blaqbonez Says He’s 50 Times Bigger Than Asake
Nigerian rapper Blaqbonez, whose real name is Emeka Akumefule, has boldly claimed that he is 50 times bigger than popular Grammy-nominated artist Asake. He shared this opinion after a tweet from Asake, dating back to 2019, resurfaced. In the tweet, a younger Asake, who was still an up-and-coming artist at the time, had asked Blaqbonez to follow him back on social media.
The tweet caught a user’s attention on X (formerly Twitter) with the handle @thejacobsss, who suggested it was funny to rank Asake higher than Blaqbonez in terms of popularity. The fan wrote, “Asake is big, but saying he’s bigger than Blaqbonez is pure comedy walai.” Blaqbonez agreed with the fan’s point and responded, saying, “Like people are funny. I’m 50x bigger. I sold out the O2 Arena in 1 minute; it took him longer.”
However, Blaqbonez’s claim about selling out the O2 Arena in just one minute seems to be an exaggeration. In reality, Blaqbonez has not yet sold out the iconic O2 Arena in London, while Asake has already achieved this feat twice. Asake’s performances at the venue have been huge successes, selling out both times, which adds to his growing reputation in the music industry.
Blaqbonez’s comment about being 50 times bigger than Asake has sparked discussions online, as fans debate the two artists’ current status in the Nigerian music scene. While both have their significant followings, Asake’s recent success and sold-out shows have given him a strong position in the music industry.
