Bobrisky Opens Up About Transition to Transgender Identity

Idris Okuneye, popularly known as Bobrisky, has provided insight into his journey towards embracing a transgender identity, shedding light on the evolution of his self-expression.

The controversial figure, known for his crossdressing persona, revealed that his exploration of crossdressing began as a marketing strategy while selling unisex clothing during his time as an undergraduate at the University of Lagos.

In a candid interview with renowned singer Charly Boy, Bobrisky expressed that he initially did not anticipate that his experimentation with crossdressing would lead to a transgender identity.

Reflecting on his past, Bobrisky shared, “About nine years ago, I was at the University of Lagos studying Accounting. I also had a side hustle, I was selling unisex clothes. Most times I try the female wears on myself and I love the outfits.”

As his business grew, Bobrisky transitioned from wearing female clothing to experimenting with hairstyles and makeup, attracting more female customers. Encouraged by positive feedback on his appearance, he made the decision to continue crossdressing, initially as a marketing strategy.
