Bobrisky Transferred to FCID After Spending Night in Police Detention
Controversial crossdresser Okuneye Idris, popularly known as Bobrisky, is currently in detention at the Force Criminal Investigation Department (FCID) Annex in Alagbon, Lagos State. He spent the night in a cell at this police facility following his recent arrest.
According to sources, Bobrisky was apprehended by officials of the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) while attempting to leave the country through the Seme border. He was subsequently transferred to the FCID for safekeeping. The arrest occurred on Sunday, and he was brought to the FCID around 10 p.m. on Monday.
A source familiar with the situation stated, “Bobrisky was brought to the FCID, Alagbon, around 10 p.m. on Monday. Immigration arrested him at the Seme border and brought him for safekeeping. He is in detention at the FCID, Alagbon, and remains there as further directives regarding his case are awaited.”
Mayegun Aminat, the spokesperson for the FCID in Lagos, confirmed Bobrisky’s detention during a conversation with reporters. She stated, “He is detained at FCID Alagbon. He is with us, and we are to get a remand to keep him in custody today.”
The spokesperson for the NIS, Kenneth Udo, also addressed the matter in a statement on Monday evening. He described Bobrisky as a person of interest in relation to ongoing issues of public concern. “In keeping with its commitment to securing the borders, Nigeria Immigration Service intercepted Okuneye Idris Olanrewaju, otherwise known as Bobrisky, at the Seme Border over an attempt to exit the country,” Udo explained.
He further noted, “He is undergoing interrogation and will be handed over to the appropriate authorities for further action. The Service assures the public that it will continue to be civil and professional in its statutory responsibility of manning the country’s borders.”
