Bode George Says President Tinubu’s Media Chat Shows No Empathy

Bode George, who is a former Deputy National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has strongly criticized President Bola Tinubu’s recent media chat. George said the President’s words and tone showed no care or concern for the suffering of ordinary Nigerians. He believes the chat did not address the real issues people are facing, especially as many struggle to survive during these hard times.

George expressed his disappointment, pointing out that the President seemed unaware of the pain and frustration in the country. He mentioned the recent food queue stampedes that led to the tragic deaths of 67 people. These events, according to him, show how serious hunger and desperation have become in Nigeria. George said, “There is hunger and anger in the land, yet the President continues to insist that his reforms are working, while many Nigerians are becoming poorer by the day, and businesses are collapsing. Hunger doesn’t believe in your talk, you’ve got to be real.”

The former PDP leader said the media chat was not a good way for the President to end the year. He criticized the President’s lack of a serious or compassionate tone, saying: “I’m surprised that there is no iota of somberness and humanity in the discussion. Why do you have a discussion in the first instance?”

George also called on the government to take urgent action to help Nigerians who are suffering. He insisted that the price of petrol must be reduced because the high cost is making life even harder for people. He also urged the government to provide immediate help, like food and money, to those who are hungry and struggling to make ends meet.

He said that the policies of the current administration have made life worse for many Nigerians. George believes that the government must act quickly to fix these problems and show that it cares about the people. He added that without real solutions, the suffering and frustration in the country will only get worse.
