Boy, 19, Gets Cash Reward For Returning Researcher’s Lost Phone

Nineteen year old Senior Secondary School lll student of the Abe Technical Secondary School, Odo Ona Elewe, Ibadan, Oyo State, has been showered with cash gifts for his act of honesty of returning a lost phone to the owner. Musa was given the gifts by the Covenant Church, Ibadan, led by a retired principal with the Oyo State Teaching Service Commission, the owner of the lost mobile phone, and a United Kingdom based Nigerian philanthropist, who preferred anonymity. Musa, who is from a poor background, returned the phone because “I asked myself what would be my gain keeping another person’s phone and subjecting her to pain. The Principal, Abe Technical Secondary School said “If he had sold the phone for N10,000 or N20,000, the money cannot be enough for the textbooks that the Governor gave all the students. Ibrahim did us proud and i know that other students will take a cue from that.”
