British Airways cancels flights in, out of Nigeria; Passengers Stranded

British Airways on 5th December, 2021 cancelled its flights from Murtala Muhammed International Airport (MMIA) Lagos into London Heathrow in the United Kingdom, citing operational reasons. The airline’s inbound flight from London into Lagos was also canceled.

Sources at the airport linked the development to implementation of the travel ban imposed on countries considered red flags to the new Omicron variant of COVID-19.

A lot of passengers who turned up at the airport were disappointed and voiced their frustrations.
