Burna Boy’s Sister Reveals How Their Parents’ Support Fueled His Success

Nigerian singer Burna Boy’s sister, Ronami Ogulu, recently shared insights into the unwavering support their parents provided during the early stages of Burna Boy’s music career. Speaking as a guest on the Overnight Success show with Mayowa Idowu, Ronami recounted how their parents played a crucial role in nurturing Burna’s talent and helping him achieve success.

Ronami, who serves as the Chief Operations Officer of Spaceship Collective, revealed that their father used to drive Burna Boy to shows, while their mother, Bose Ogulu, would sometimes add to his show fees to ensure he performed. She recalled that in 2018, they realized Burna’s career had truly taken off when their mother finally paid herself for her work as Burna Boy’s manager.

Ronami shared how their mother would often receive calls from show organizers offering to pay only ₦100,000 for Burna to perform in places like Warri. Knowing that Burna wouldn’t perform for such a low fee, Bose Ogulu would double the amount out of her own salary to make it worthwhile. Their father would then drive Burna to the show, wait for him to finish, and drive him back home.
