Charly Boy Reacts to US Election After Staking His Marriage for Kamala’s Victory

Maverick Nigerian singer, Charles Oputa, widely known as Charly Boy, has expressed his disappointment after the results of the United States presidential election did not go in favor of his candidate, Kamala Harris. Before the election, Charly Boy made a bold and somewhat humorous statement that he would divorce his wife of 47 years if Harris, the Democratic Party candidate, lost the election.

In his initial vow, Charly Boy had posted in Pidgin, “If dis my crush, Kamala Harris no win the USA presidential election, I swear, I go divorce my wife of 47yrs.” His playful promise had caught the attention of many, as he made it clear how much he admired the Vice President of the United States.

However, the election saw former president Donald Trump, the Republican Party candidate, defeating Kamala Harris. This loss left Charly Boy in a reflective mood, and he took to his X handle to express his thoughts. While he did not comment directly on whether he would follow through with his divorce promise, he did share a message about the election outcome.

Charly Boy described the result as unfortunate but took a philosophical approach, acknowledging that in life, sometimes we win, and other times we lose. He wrote, “On behalf of all the lovers and fans of Kamala Harris, sorry we lost. Our alfa woman ran the most intelligent campaign in less than 100 days. We win some, we lose some and that’s life. It’s unfortunate but leadership globally has gone south as the worst of us rules the best of us. It shall be well.”

Although the election result did not go as Charly Boy had hoped, he remained positive and philosophical, echoing his belief in the cyclical nature of wins and losses in life. His fans and followers were left wondering if he would hold to his earlier claim of divorcing his wife. But for now, his focus appears to be on the bigger picture, with a message of resilience and hope despite the setback.
