Chika Ike Denies Ned Nwoko Fathered Her Child
Nollywood actress Chika Ike has broken her silence regarding rumors about the paternity of her unborn baby, firmly dismissing claims that Senator Ned Nwoko is the father.
On Tuesday, Ike addressed the ongoing speculation on social media, emphasizing the need to set the record straight as the rumors involved her child. She took to her Instagram handle, stating that linking Nwoko to her pregnancy was nothing but baseless guesswork. The actress stressed that she has no intention of becoming the seventh wife of the Delta lawmaker, as polygamy is not a lifestyle she embraces.
“There have been all sorts of lies paddled about me in the media for years, but I always treated them like what they are — rumors that needed no response,” Ike wrote. “But this is different, this is about my child. You all do not know anything about me! Because you can’t! Except I choose to disclose. Yes, I’m that private! Ned isn’t the father of my child, and whoever’s name you might come up with later in your guessing games, I’m not about to be anyone’s seventh wife! Polygamy isn’t for me.”
She further explained how she managed to keep her pregnancy private for months without public knowledge, dismissing the notion that anyone could claim to know details about her personal life.
“I’ve been pregnant for months now, and no one even had a clue until I announced it. Yet you all think you’ll know who the father of my child is or anything happening in my life? Very laughable and clueless!” she added.
In response to the rumors, Nwoko also denied any involvement with Ike. According to a statement from his Director of Communications, shared on Nwoko’s Instagram page alongside pictures of him and his wife Regina Daniels, the claims were described as “entirely baseless” and rooted in malicious speculation.
“Our attention has been drawn to the recent false rumors alleging that Senator Prince Ned Munir Nwoko is planning to marry Nollywood actress Chika Ike as his seventh wife and that she is pregnant for him. We categorically state that these claims are entirely baseless and a product of malicious speculation,” the statement read.
Despite the circulating rumors, Ike remains focused on her pregnancy journey, urging those spreading false information to keep digging while she basks in the joy of becoming a mother.
