Daddy Freeze Claims Miracles in Nigerian Churches Are Choreographed

Media personality Ifedayo Olarinde, popularly known as Daddy Freeze, has stirred controversy with his recent claim that miracles in Nigerian Pentecostal churches are staged. According to him, the so-called miraculous healings and supernatural events often showcased in churches are not real, but rather orchestrated performances designed to deceive followers. He insisted that he does not believe in any of the miracles performed in Nigerian churches, arguing that they are meant for gullible individuals who fail to question their authenticity.

Daddy Freeze emphasized that the miracles recorded in the Bible, particularly those performed by Jesus Christ, were verifiable because they involved well-known individuals whose lives were transformed in the presence of witnesses. However, he argued that Nigerian pastors have failed to replicate such miracles in a way that can be publicly verified. He pointed out that, despite the widespread claims of miraculous healings, no prominent Nigerian public figure has ever been truly healed by a pastor in a way that can be fact-checked by the general public.

Speaking in a recent episode of the Outside The Box podcast, he stated that his high intelligence level makes it difficult for him to believe in modern-day church miracles. He explained that Jesus healed people like the man with a withered hand, raised Lazarus from the dead, and restored the sight of blind Bartimaeus—all of whom were known figures whose conditions were widely acknowledged before and after their healings. He argued that these biblical accounts were credible because they involved people whose stories were recognized and validated by their communities.

Comparing biblical miracles to modern-day claims, Daddy Freeze questioned why Nigerian pastors have not been able to heal or resurrect notable personalities who suffered from serious health conditions. He cited the case of former NAFDAC boss Dora Akunyili, who battled cancer before her passing, pointing out that despite being prayed for by many top pastors, she was not healed. He also mentioned the late Nollywood actor Mr Ibu, who suffered severe health complications that eventually led to the amputation of his leg before his death. According to Daddy Freeze, despite the prayers from popular pastors, Mr Ibu’s condition worsened, and none of the so-called miracle workers could prevent his passing.

He insisted that if miracles were real in Nigerian churches, then high-profile individuals suffering from critical illnesses should be healed in a way that the public can verify. He challenged Nigerian pastors to provide tangible evidence of their claimed miracles, stressing that he would only believe in their powers if they could perform undeniable healings on well-known individuals whose conditions have been publicly documented.

His comments have sparked debates among Nigerians, with many agreeing with his perspective, while others argue that faith-based miracles cannot be measured by human reasoning. Daddy Freeze, who has been a vocal critic of Pentecostal practices, has consistently called out religious leaders whom he believes exploit their followers through questionable doctrines. He continues to demand accountability and transparency from Nigerian pastors, urging them to provide proof of their so-called miraculous works.
