David Beckham Reacts to Marcus Rashford’s Goal Record for Man Utd

Manchester United legend, David Beckham provided an amusing response to Marcus Rashford equaling his goal tally for Man Utd, by admitting he “didn’t realize he had scored that many.”

The United legend found the net 85 times in a total of 394 appearances, during his reign at the theatre of Dreams

It was quite an impressive haul for a right midfielder, particularly as he left United for Real Madrid at the age of 28.

However, Rashford was able to accomplish the same tally in 253 appearances – 141 less than Beckham.

Though the 23-year-old attacker does have the advantage of playing as a forward for much of that time, and Beckham was not in the business of comparing records anyway, as he was surprised to have ranked that high.

After achieving the feat in the 3-1 win against Newcastle, Rashford took to his Twitter page to write.

“Joined some great company tonight, matching Becks record. Happy Sunday everyone,” the United’s star tweeted

United posted a snippet of the club’s scoring charts on their official Instagram account, showing Rashford level with Beckham, along with the caption: “Rubbing shoulders with the greats.”

Beckham commented: “Not sure we will be on the same number for long @MarcusRashford. Didn’t realize I have scored that many!”
