Deeper Life School Saga: Parties resolve dispute, play football

Aggrieved parties in the Deeper Life school saga in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State, involving a junior student, John-Davis Archibong, who was alleged to have been sexually molested by some senior students, have resolved their dispute out of court.

Don-Davis parents’ had sued two senior students of the school, including the Principal, Mrs. Ndidi Solomon and some teachers over alleged abuse and molestation of the pupil.

Speaking at the end of a novelty match after a peace reconciliation reception organized by the school, Don-Davis mother, Deborah Archibong, expressed happiness that all the children involved in the case were alive to witness the occasion.

While appreciating the teachers and Principal for their cooperation, Mrs. Archibong recalled that her son came to Deeper Life High School because of the moral standard and discipline the school was known for.

“Let us forget the devil came in, everything will be fine. The good news i want to trend on social media is that i like the cooperation of the teachers, principal a nd every other person. When i came in, i was wearing tight because i thought it would be anyhow, but i see Christ in every one of them. I know that Deeper Life High School has come to stay”, she added.

In his remark, the lead counsel for the school, Taiwo Kupolati, commended the High Court Judge, Justice Ntong Ntong, for initiating the peace process.

He said, “We got a consent judgement based on the resolution of the parties for togetherness and their clear desire to unite the students. The realization and conviction of the parties to secure and live a peaceful life, seeing that these students are the furure of this generation, make it imperative for the resolution of the misunderstanding . Today, is to celebrate and affirm the principle of peace”.

The lawyer who represented the claimant, Sampson Awoji, thanked the school for keeping to the terms of the settlement.

The State Overseer of the Deeper Life Bible Church, Akwa Ibom, Pastor Emmanuel Amaeze, who was represented by Pastor Timothy Adewuyi, urged everybody to learn how to live in peace.

The high point of the reception was the presentation of memorabilia to Don-Davis as a parting gift from the school.
