Do2dtun Reacts as Portable Insults Saheed Osupa Over Copyright Dispute
Nigerian media personality Dotun Ojuolape, popularly known as Do2dtun, has reacted to the heated feud between controversial singer Habeeb Okikiola, known as Portable, and veteran Fuji musician Saheed Osupa. The dispute erupted after Osupa had one of Portable’s songs removed from streaming platforms over copyright infringement.
According to reports, Portable had used a line from one of Osupa’s songs without permission, leading to its takedown from major platforms like Spotify and Apple Music. This move enraged the ‘Zazu Zeh’ singer, who took to social media to vent his frustration. In a viral video, Portable lashed out at Osupa, calling him “big for nothing” and accusing him of failing to support his music career like fellow Fuji artist, Pasuma.
The online outburst sparked reactions, with many criticizing Portable’s approach. Among them was Do2dtun, who took to 𝕏 (formerly Twitter) to express his disapproval. He mocked Portable, warning that Osupa might physically retaliate against him for the insults.
“You want to look for trouble but it’s Saheed Osupa’s trouble you want to look for … you go dey collect beating bus stop by bus stop,” Do2dtun wrote. He further criticized Portable for failing to take responsibility for his actions, arguing that the singer often mistakes privileges for rights.
“This is the issue, you sampled someone’s song without his permission and then insult him when he took it down. You sometimes mistake privileges for rights. Repercussions for oppression. This is why ignorant guys like you are never accountable for anything even when you are wrong,” Do2dtun added.
The ongoing feud has sparked a wider discussion about intellectual property rights in the Nigerian music industry. While sampling is common in music, proper authorization is necessary to avoid legal consequences.
