Dr Sid Reveals Why He Relocated to the US
Nigerian rapper Sidney Esiri, famously known as Dr Sid, has shared the reasons behind his relocation to the United States in 2023. In a candid interview on the ‘No Man’s Friend’ podcast, Dr Sid explained that his decision to move was influenced by a remote job offer from a New York-based company. He relocated to Houston, Texas, to take up the opportunity, which allowed him to work remotely from any state of his choice.
Dr Sid elaborated, saying, “I moved to Houston, Texas, last year. I got a job in a company in New York, and they offered me the chance to relocate to the US and work remotely from any state.” For him, the decision to settle in Houston was an easy one, as he already had family and close friends in the city, making it a comfortable choice.
Besides his career in music, Dr Sid has been focusing on expanding his interests beyond entertainment. Over the past year and a half, he has shifted his focus towards gaming, tournaments, game development, and education training. This shift reflects his evolving career path and his desire to explore different industries beyond music.
Dr Sid’s music journey began in 1999 when he worked as a choreographer with Trybe Records. His rise to fame gained momentum in 2009 when he released his debut album Turning Point under the Mo’ Hits Records label. Since then, Dr Sid has become a prominent figure in the Nigerian music scene, known for his versatility and success.
