Falz Defends Alex Iwobi Amid AFCON Criticism, Slams Cyberbullying
Famous Nigerian rapper and activist, Folarin Falana, popularly known as Falz the Bad Guy, has taken to social media to defend Super Eagles player, Alex Iwobi, amidst heavy criticism following Nigeria’s performance at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) final.
In a post shared on his Instagram page, Falz expressed his support for Iwobi and condemned cyberbullying targeted at the player. He emphasized the sacrifices made by every player who represents Nigeria on the field and advocated for unity and respect, regardless of the match outcome.
“We win together, we lose together. Every single player that puts on the green white green to represent us is making an immense sacrifice and does not deserve to be treated with this much disdain,” Falz wrote.
Highlighting the prevalence of cyberbullying, Falz called out the quickness with which people turn against their own and urged for a change in attitude towards Nigerian athletes. He concluded his message with a show of solidarity and appreciation for Iwobi, declaring his love for the player.
