Falz Initiates Legal Proceedings Against VeryDarkMan for Defamatory Allegations
Nigerian rapper Folarin Falana, widely known as Falz, has initiated legal proceedings against self-proclaimed activist VeryDarkMan due to defamatory remarks that have circulated widely on social media. This legal action comes in the wake of VeryDarkMan’s claims regarding Falz’s alleged involvement in homosexual affairs and his purported efforts to secure a presidential pardon for Idris Okuneye, better known as Bobrisky. Bobrisky currently faces legal challenges related to alleged money laundering and naira abuse.
In a statement shared on Instagram, the 33-year-old rapper demanded that VeryDarkMan retract and withdraw the defamatory statements. The activist’s comments suggested that Falz was involved in a homosexual relationship with Bobrisky, insinuating that he helped secure special treatment for Bobrisky during his imprisonment.
Falz clarified in his legal statement that the communication regarding special privileges in the correctional facility originated with Bobrisky, who allegedly requested ₦3 million to facilitate his stay in the VIP section.
The legal notice warns, “Be advised that if we do not receive your formal retraction and apology as demanded within 24 (twenty-four) hours of the receipt hereof, we shall proceed with our client’s instructions to seek appropriate legal remedies, including monetary damages, against you for your incendiary publication and dissemination of defamatory statements. We hope that the salient issue raised herein will urgently be addressed.”
Falz has set a strict deadline for VeryDarkMan to issue an apology across all social media platforms within 24 hours, showing the seriousness of the situation.
