FG opens Koo account, days after suspending Twitter

The Federal Government has opened an official account on Koo, an Indian microblogging platform.

This came barely a week after it suspended the operations of US microblogging platform, Twitter, alleging that it was being used to undermine Nigeria’s corporate existence. The Koo account, with the handle, “@nigeriagov” and username “GovernmentofNigeria”, and had over 10,000 followers.

Aprameya Radhakrishna, Koo founder and CEO, officially confirmed that the platform was now available in Nigeria.

Radhakrishna said his team was working on adding Nigeria’s local languages for Koo users in the country.
