Five possible benefits of drinking boiled lemon and ginger

On the other hand, two ginger compounds; gingerol and shogaol have immunity-boosing properties and help to fight off a cold because they can lower a fever, reduce pain, and suppress a cough.

For individuals looking to lose weight, this mixture could come in handy. Lemon has proven ability in helping to reduce insulin resistance, reducing the amount of fat stored in the body as a result. Ginger plays its role in this regard by reducing hunger, thereby reducing the frequency at which you eat.

Ginger is used for treating gastrointestinal issues, helping to relieve nauseous feelings, vomiting and constipation. Lemon is another great remedy for nausea as it contains neutralizing acids that form bicarbonates which bring relief.

5. Reduction of Cancer Risks

Some researchers have found that gingerol, an active compound in ginger has cancer-fighting properties. Added to that is the high antioxidant properties of ginger which is also known to prevent the growth of cancer cells. Lemons also contain citrus pectin and limonoids, two substances naturally occurring on their peels that have cancer-fighting properties.
