How i planned abduction of ABU lecturers, students- Security personnel

A security officer, Abubakar Aliyu, with the Ahmadu Bello University, ABU, Zaria, has revealed how he planned the abduction of three lecturers and a director of the institution.

He confessed that he is the kingpin behind the series of kidnapping incidents of lecturers, administrators and students of Ahmadu Bello University.

Speaking during the parade of 25 kidnappers by Special Tactical Squad, STS, of Nigeria Police, yesterday in Abuja, Aliyu said he gave the kidnap gang information on three occasions.

“I was rewarded with N30,000 on two occasions and nothing after the third kidnapping”.

Also, one of the kidnappers, Mallam Mohammed Suleiman, who confessed to being a prayer warrior to 15 kidnapping gangs spread across Kaduna, Zamfara, Niger and Nasarawa states, said he received between N50,000 and N400,000 for offering prayers.

Suleiman noted that he is a former scholar and he didn’t know initially that those who came to him for prayers were kidnappers. As time went on, he knew and they started giving him money.

The Force Public Relations Officer, CP Frank Mba, supported by the Commander, Intelligence Response Team, IRT, DCP Abba Kyari said, “These suspects have been linked through series of investigations by detectives of the Force Intelligence Bureau.

“The 25 suspects are linked to kidnapping, armed robbery, murder, unlawful rustling and serious violent crimes”.
