Howard University Revokes Sean “Diddy” Combs’ Honorary Degree Over Assault Video

Howard University, a prestigious institution in Washington DC, has taken the unprecedented step of revoking rapper Sean “Diddy” Combs’ honorary degree following the surfacing of a disturbing assault video.

The decision was prompted by the release of CCTV footage from 2016 showing Combs physically assaulting his ex-girlfriend, Casandra Ventura. Howard University deemed Combs’ behavior in the video to be fundamentally incompatible with its core values and beliefs, leading to the revocation of his honorary degree.

The university’s Board of Trustees unanimously accepted Combs’ return of the honorary degree, resulting in the removal of all associated honors and privileges. Additionally, Howard University is severing ties with Combs by returning a $1 million contribution, terminating a gift arrangement, scholarship, and pledge agreement with the Sean Combs Foundation.

Combs, who attended Howard University from 1987 to 1989, now faces the consequences of his actions, including civil lawsuits accusing him of being a violent sexual predator. Federal agents have even raided his homes in connection with these allegations.

This move sends a powerful message about the consequences of violence and the importance of integrity in academia.
