I lost my son, brother, house to Yelwa attack- Plateau Youth Leader

A 55 year old man, Yakubu Bagudu, has narrated his experience in the hand of gunmen, who attacked Yelwa Zangam community in Jos North Local Government Area of Plateau State on Tuesday night and killed over 36 residents , setting their houses ablaze in the process.

According to him, the gunmen killed his son, brother and also burnt his house during the incident, describing his escape and some other members of his family as a miracle.

Bagudu, who is a youth leader in Yelwa Zangam community narrated how Naphtali, his 32 year old son, a mechanic, was shot dead by the gunmen while he was returning from work.

Bagudu described the killings in his community as painful and unwarranted.

According to him, a total of 17 residents of the community who were burnt beyond recognition, were buried on Wednesday while the corpses of 20 other victims that were deposited at the Jos University Teaching Hospital morgue would be given mass burial on Friday.
