“If Everyone Sang Gospel, the World Would Be Boring” – Laolu Gbenjo
Gospel artist Laolu Gbenjo recently shared his views on the importance of musical variety, suggesting that if everyone only sang gospel music, the world would be dull. In an interview on Channels Television’s The Morning Brief, Gbenjo highlighted that different occasions require different kinds of music, such as love songs for weddings and celebratory praise for joyful moments.
“We have to be sincere; if everybody sings gospel, the world will be boring. That’s the truth,” he said, pointing out that music should reflect the mood and occasion.
He also touched on how the COVID-19 lockdown pushed him to create a new niche called Alujo Special, where he sang personalized songs for individuals by using their photos as inspiration. Gbenjo credited his father, a pastor, for igniting his passion for music and launching his singing career.
