Iheanacho rescues Leicester City from defeat at Southampton
Super Eagles of Nigeria in-form Striker Kelechi Iheanacho made the difference for Leicester City as they fought back to snatch a point at Southampton on Friday night.

 

Iheanacho provided the assist that help Leicester City secured a 1-1 draw against Ralph Hasenhuetti led Southampton at Saint Mary’s Stadium.

 

The Nigerian international retained his spot in Brendan Rodgers-led team again and started in the away team’s attack alongside Jamie Vardy.

 

Out of form Southampton proved to be a difficult knot to crack in the game and they eventually took the lead on the hour mark after Stuart Armstrong’s shot hit Iheanacho’s arm, and Ward-Prowse beat Schmeichel from 12 yards.

 

Iheanacho quickly dusts himself up and make amend eight-minute milatee when he sent a perfect ball into the Southampton box and Jonny Evans was there to head it home.

 

Iheanacho’s compatriot Wilfred Ndidi later wasted a glorious opportunity with few minutes left by firing wide when unmarked from 20 yards.
