Ishaku warns monarchs, alleges terrorists planning base in Taraba

Taraba State Governor, Darius Ishaku, on Thursday said terrorists were planning to establish a base in the state.

Ishaku raised the alarm at the 2022 budget in Jalingo.

The governor who expressed worry over the development threatened to sack any traditional ruler who disobeyed his command and allowed strangers to group in his domain.

He said, “Security is my priority and i have talked to the traditional rulers not to allow strangers in their settlement. But the refusal of traditional rulers to heed to my warnings and disobey my command will further make me not hesitate, but remove such a traditional ruler.

“I have credible intelligence that terrorists are trying to set up a camp in Taraba. The traditional rulers have a responsibility to report any suspicious movements and expose the plans of the terrorists to camp in their domain”.

The governor who thanked the lawmakers for the speedy passage of the 2022 budget noted that his administration was determined to maintain fiscal discipline in completing all the ongoing projects in the state.
