Renowned Nollywood actress Iyabo Ojo has made headlines by winning the Best Dressed Celebrity Award at the premiere of Omoni Oboli’s latest film, “Wives on Strike: The Uprising.” This accolade comes with a cash prize of One Million Naira.
Omoni Oboli, the film’s director and producer, announced Ojo’s victory on Instagram, praising her outstanding appearance at the event. She expressed her admiration, stating, “Nigerian fashionistas brought their A-game… @iyaboojofespris is the Best Dressed Winner in the Female category. You’re a true fashion icon. Congratulations, Queen Mother; you lit up our premiere with class.”
At the premiere, Iyabo Ojo captivated the audience with her striking black dress, adorned with colorful patterns, and complemented by a dramatic black hat. Her ensemble certainly made a lasting impression.
According to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), “Wives on Strike: The Uprising” marks the third installment in the Wives on Strike series, which began in 2016. The film’s narrative revolves around women staging a sex strike to protest domestic violence, cleverly blending humor with significant social commentary.
Following the success of the original film, the sequel, “Wives on Strike: The Revolution,” was released in 2018, continuing to address themes of women’s rights and inclusivity. The latest installment, however, takes a more gripping turn, focusing on a widow whose life is thrown into turmoil after her child is kidnapped.
