James Brown Mourns Colleague Area Mama, Reflects on Their Unmet Connection
Nigerian crossdresser James Brown has expressed his grief over the death of his colleague, Area Mama, a fellow crossdresser known for his presence in Abuja’s entertainment scene. Area Mama, who gained popularity under the moniker ‘Abuja Area Mama,’ was found dead in the Banex area of Wuse II, Federal Capital Territory (FCT). According to reports, his lifeless body was discovered along the Katampe-Mabushi Expressway on Thursday morning.
The FCT Police Command, led by Commissioner of Police CP Benneth Igweh, has confirmed the discovery and launched a thorough investigation into the circumstances surrounding Area Mama’s death. Josephine Adeh, spokesperson for the police, emphasized that a detailed inquiry is underway.
In response to the tragic news, James Brown took to his Instagram story to mourn his colleague. He expressed his sorrow, noting that he had never met Area Mama in person. Reflecting on the situation, he shared a poignant message: “RIP. I didn’t get to meet him. Sinners mad at sinners cos they sin differently.”
James Brown, who has been open about his own journey as a crossdresser, previously discussed his choice to dress as a woman. He mentioned that his unique style not only supports his financial needs but also serves as a form of personal expression. Despite the challenges of living as a crossdresser, James has used his platform to entertain and provide solace to his fans amid the difficulties in Nigeria.
In April, James Brown had addressed public discussions about his personal life, urging people to focus on his work and entertainment rather than his personal struggles. He emphasized the importance of respecting boundaries while appreciating the support from his fans.
James Brown’s message highlights both his grief and the broader reflections on the struggles faced by individuals in the public eye. As the investigation into Area Mama’s death continues, the entertainment community and fans remember the impact and legacy of the late crossdresser.
