Jamie Foxx: What is known about his medical condition
About a month ago, Hollywood star, Jamie Foxx, was hospitalised after suffering a “medical complication”.
Since the news of his hospitalisation surfaced online, very few details have emerged about his situation.
Back in April, Foxx’s daughter Corinne Foxx released a statement on social media saying; “We wanted to share that my father, Jamie Foxx, experienced a medical complication yesterday.”
“Luckily, due to quick action and great care, he is already on his way to recovery. We know how beloved he is and appreciate your prayers,” she added. “The family asks for privacy during this time.”
Not so much is known about his situation since his hospitalisation for almost 30 days, some reports have suggested that the Ray star is recovering, while one source who spoke with Radar said his friends and family are “hoping for the best – but preparing for the worst”.
What we know about his illness and recovery
During an interview with Extra on 20 April, Bad Boys star Martin Lawrence said Foxx was “doing better”.
“My prayers go out for him every night and just wishing the best for him, one of the best that we got in Hollywood. Not only one of the best entertainers but a good person,” he added.
On May 3, Foxx broke his silence on social media, thanking fans for their support. “Appreciate all the love!!! Feeling blessed [prayer, heart and fox emoji].”
Another source who spoke with TMZ said that he “needs all the prayers and well-wishes his fans can muster”.
Foxx also took time out to thank actor and show host, Nick Cannon, for stepping in to replace him as host of the Fox game show, Beat Shazam.
“Everybody at FOX Entertainment wishes Jamie well as he continues his recovery, and we greatly appreciate Nick’s willingness to jump in and help this summer,” Beat Shazam announced on Instagram.
“Man, I’m praying. I literally have been saying prayers out loud,” Cannon said of Foxx.
Comedian Kevin Hart during an interview with hosts Logan Paul and Mike Majlak on their Impulsive podcast suggested that Foxx was on the road to recovery.
“The dope thing is that he’s getting better in his situation, and everybody’s prayers, everybody’s love, energy, all that stuff is seen and felt [by him],” Hart said.
“In this case, you just want the guy to get out of the situation and get back home.”
Hart continued: “I don’t know the details – or the exact details – as to what’s going on, but to my knowledge, there’s a lot of progression and a world of better.”
On Tuesday (9 May), his daughter, Corinne shared an advert she stars in alongside her father for Intel on social media.
Foxx was shooting a new Netflix film ‘Back In Action” in Georgia, USA when he was taken to a medical facility. He has since remained there and is being kept “under observation”, according to several reports.
The actor reunited with Annie (2014) co-star Cameron Diaz for the movie, who has since returned to filming while a body double sub for Foxx.
