Jimmy Kimmel Mulls Hosting Oscars in 2025 Amid Trump’s Critique
Late-night host Jimmy Kimmel is reconsidering his stance on hosting the Oscars next year after remarks made by former President Donald Trump on Truth Social caught his attention.
Trump’s comments, labeling Kimmel as a “FOOL” and possibly the “WORST HOST EVER” of the Academy Awards, elicited a humorous response from Kimmel. “I don’t know. That must be why they asked me to host the show again next year. Which I wasn’t planning to do but now I might,” he quipped, adding a playful suggestion for Trump to catch the broadcast from the rec room at Riker’s.
Kimmel, who has previously hosted the Oscars in 2017, 2018, and the last two ceremonies, has been approached to return for the upcoming event on March 2, 2025.
In addition to poking fun at Trump’s mistaking him for Al Pacino, Kimmel couldn’t resist addressing Will Smith’s infamous altercation with Chris Rock at the recent Oscars. Mocking suggestions that people begged him not to read Trump’s post, Kimmel clarified the situation, asserting his own decision to engage with the content and defending his wife from being dragged into the discourse.
Kimmel’s potential return as host adds an intriguing dimension to the Oscars, hinting at the possibility of a lively and entertaining ceremony in 2025.
