Josh Peck Expresses Support for ‘Quiet on Set’ Survivors, Addresses Backlash”
Josh Peck, known for his role in the Nickelodeon series “Drake & Josh,” has voiced his support for the survivors of alleged abuse featured in the Investigation Discovery docuseries “Quiet on Set: The Dark Side of Kids TV.”
The docuseries, which aired recently, shed light on allegations of abuse, inappropriate behavior, and a toxic work environment on certain Nickelodeon shows produced by Dan Schneider. One of Peck’s co-stars, Drake Bell, came forward with accusations of child sexual abuse against dialogue coach Brian Peck, a close collaborator of Schneider’s.
Brian Peck was arrested in 2003 and charged with lewd acts with a child, eventually pleading no contest and being convicted. Peck’s convictions included lewd or lascivious acts with a minor and oral copulation with a minor, resulting in a prison sentence.
In response to the docuseries, Peck took to Instagram to express his support for the survivors and their bravery in sharing their stories. He acknowledged the difficulty of reliving such experiences publicly and emphasized the importance of protecting children in the industry.
Peck’s post followed some online backlash he received for a TikTok video amid the release of “Quiet on Set.” However, Bell addressed the backlash, urging understanding for Peck’s emotional process and revealing that Peck had reached out to him privately to offer support.
Nancy Sullivan, who portrayed Peck and Bell’s mother on “Drake & Josh,” also expressed her support for Bell in an Instagram post.
Representatives for Peck and Bell have not yet responded to requests for comment, indicating the emotional complexity of the situation for those involved.
