Kcee Says He Made Money Before His Billionaire Brother E-Money
Nigerian music star Kingsley Okonkwo, popularly known as Kcee, has opened up about his strong bond with his billionaire brother, Emeka Okonkwo, famously known as E-Money. During an interview on the Tea With Tay podcast, Kcee shared how their journey began and clarified that he was successful before his younger brother hit it big in the business world.
Kcee explained that E-Money was once his manager when he was part of the music group KC-Presh. At the time, Kcee said he had already started making money from music, even contributing to the cost of E-Money’s wedding. “I made money before him. He used to be our manager. Then he started making money—making more money,” he recalled.
Despite now being wealthier, Kcee said E-Money has always supported his music career. “He invested in me,” the singer admitted, adding that his brother’s business success brought consistent financial returns, unlike the unpredictable income in the music industry.
Kcee also shared a touching story about how close their bond has always been. “When he was born, I held his hand and cried tears of joy. I stayed at the hospital with him for three days,” he said. Their connection grew stronger over the years, and Kcee even came up with the name “E-Money” while they were all still struggling.
“At the time, he wasn’t wealthy. I used to be K-Money, Prech was P-Money, and we called him E-Money. We called the money into existence,” he said with a laugh. He continued shouting “E-Money” in his songs, which made many fans believe he was E-Money—until his brother became more well-known.
Despite being advised by some to stop promoting E-Money in his songs, Kcee said he never let jealousy come between them. He insisted that he has no problem with his brother becoming more famous or richer, noting that their bond is built on love, not competition.
