Kunle Afolayan Mourns Loss of His Mother, Omoladun Afolayan

Nollywood actor and film producer, Kunle Afolayan, is mourning the loss of his mother, Omoladun Afolayan, who passed away at the age of 81. Kunle shared the sad news on his Instagram, expressing that although it is difficult to accept, his mother lived a fulfilling life and is now at peace.

In his post, Kunle wrote, “It is hard to accept, but she surely lived a good life. Our mother, Maami Omoladun Ayanladun Afolayan, has gone to rest. (1943-2024).” He also asked for prayers for his family, noting that she leaves behind children and grandchildren. He concluded with a heartfelt Yoruba phrase, “Omo re a gbeyin gbogbo wa,” which translates to “Her children will outlive us all.”

Gabriel Afolayan, Kunle’s brother and fellow actor, also shared his grief on social media. Gabriel expressed his deep sorrow, calling their mother “big mummy” and recalling fond memories of their time together. “Home is not cool. We lost a very dear one,” he posted. He shared how much he would miss her as his conversation and dance partner, adding, “Rest on #maami. Big love to my sibs #kunleafo #aremumimostwantedlikecrudeoil.”
