Lightning kill eight year old Bayelsa boy while playing football

Lightning has killed an eight year old boy in the Imiringi community, Ogbia Local Government Area of Bayelsa state.

The incident was said to have happened on Wednesday during a downpour, which was preceded by deafening thunderstorms and lightning.

It was learnt that the victim, a native of the neighbouring Kolo community, was residing with his family in Imiringi.

He was said to be playing football with his friends in an open field when the lightning struck him.

The deceased was indoor all through the afternoon until the evening when he went out to play.
