Liverpool Reach Agreement with RB Leipzig For Ibrahima Konate
The transfer rumors have long sent RB Leipzig midfielder Ibrahima Konate to Anfield. Liverpool’s defense problems this season have served as fuel for this rumor. The injury problems initially led Liverpool to loan Ozan Kabak in Schalke and buy Ben Davies in Preston.
Liverpool have reportedly been negotiating with Konate’s representatives in the meantime, and now something could indicate that these negotiations have borne fruit. The Guardian thus believes to know that the parties have reached agreement on a five-year agreement.
“The Reds” are now ready to pay the French U21 national team defender’s release clause of £30 Million. Liverpool already has a good relationship with RB Leipzig, where the Premier League club in 2018 bought Naby Keita.
Ibrahima Konate, who was reportedly on Chelsea’s wish list last summer while Manchester United are currently interested in the 21-year-old Frenchman, has played 92 games for RB Leipzig – including 64 Bundesliga games – since joining the club in 2017.
