Long Jumper Ese Brume Emerges Nigeria’ 1st Medalist at Tokyo Olympics

Ese Brume came third in women’s long jump, earning the first medal for Nigeria at the ongoing Tokyo 2020 Olympics.

Brume who won the bronze medal for the long jump event is Nigeria’s sole representative in the jumps in Tokyo since the disqualification of Ruth Usoro by the Athletics Integrity Unit.

Usoro had met the qualifying standards for both the Long and Tripple jump events but was denied a debut appearance at the Games.

At the time of this report, Ese Brume is  Nigeria’s sole medalist at the ongoing Olympics in Tokyo.
