Manchester United Announces New CEO to Take Over From Ed Woodward

Richard Arnold will become Manchester United’s chief executive on February 1, with executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward stepping down from his role before leaving the club in April.

Arnold, who will succeed Woodward in running the club, has been the driving force behind numerous commercial deals since becoming United’s group managing director in 2013.

Arnold, who jumps from Group Managing Director to CEO, will start his new role from 1st February 2022, which is the same date Ed Woodward will stand down from his role as Executive Vice-Chairman.

Arnold said (via ManUtd.com): “I am honoured to have the chance to serve this great club and its fans. I am determined to return that honour in any way I can.”

Well, Mr Arnold, you can start by letting the football decisions to the football people. Something Woodward never did and we are still paying the price for that today, with dressing room unrest.
