Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, Makes Instagram Comeback to Launch New Business Venture
CNN — Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, made a notable return to Instagram on Thursday, reviving her presence on the platform after deactivating her personal account in 2018. In a surprising move, the former “Suits” star appears to be stepping into entrepreneurship with the launch of a new business venture named the American Riviera Orchard.
The bio of Meghan’s Instagram account confirms her ownership and establishment of the page this year. The profile showcases the brand’s logo and features snippets of Meghan engaging in activities such as picking flowers and cooking in a charming, rustic kitchen setting.
Although specifics about the American Riviera Orchard’s offerings are currently undisclosed on both its website and Instagram page, a search of public trademark records reveals insights into Meghan’s new venture. The trademark information indicates that the company offers a range of retail items including jams, preserves, tablewares, cutlery, and cookbooks, among others.
Notably, the owner of the trademark is listed as an LLC sharing an address with the office of Richard Genow, who serves as an attorney for the Duchess. CNN has reached out to Meghan’s representative and attorney for further details.
Prior to her marriage to Prince Harry, Meghan operated a lifestyle website called The Tig, which she closed down in 2018. Additionally, she departed from her role as Rachel Zane in the popular TV series “Suits” around the same time. Despite its modest initial fanbase, “Suits” gained renewed popularity after its release on Netflix, a development Meghan described as “wild.”
In a recent update, NBC announced the pilot order for “Suits: LA,” a spinoff from the original series created by Aaron Korsh. While the cast for the spinoff remains undisclosed, it’s uncertain if Meghan or any of the original “Suits” actors will be involved in the project.
