Mercy Chinwo Accuses Former Manager Eezeetee of Spreading False News About Her Son’s Paternity

Nigerian gospel singer Mercy Chinwo has accused her former manager, Ezekiel ThankGod, also known as Eezeetee, of being behind false rumors about the paternity of her son. The accusations came after Mercy and her husband, Pastor Blessed Uzochikwa, welcomed their baby boy in 2023, and rumors began circulating that gospel musician Nathaniel Bassey was the father.

In a video shared on her Instagram on January 30, 2025, Mercy expressed her frustration, claiming that Eezeetee, driven by personal animosity toward Nathaniel Bassey, was responsible for the fake news. She referenced a letter from her lawyer, Pelumi Olajengbesi, published on January 25, which addressed the ongoing situation.

Mercy also highlighted the toxic nature of her relationship with Eezeetee, which she says led her to relocate from Lagos to Port Harcourt. She shared how Eezeetee had bullied and threatened her, even claiming that he had said, “I made you who you are, and I will destroy you.” Mercy emphasized that the current online harassment she faces is nothing compared to what she endured during her time working with Eezeetee.

The gospel singer further accused her former manager of seizing her royalties for two years and using his influence to spread lies about her son. According to Mercy, Eezeetee’s hatred for certain individuals, including Nathaniel Bassey and Pastor Jerry Eze, led him to orchestrate the false paternity rumors and pay bloggers to spread them.

This latest revelation adds to the growing tension between Mercy and Eezeetee, as she continues to speak out against the alleged mistreatment she endured during their professional relationship.
