Mohbad’s Mother Firmly Backs Father on Remembrance Plans
As the first-year remembrance of the late Nigerian singer Ilerioluwa Aloba, better known as Mohbad, approaches, fans are curious about how his family will commemorate the occasion. Recently, Mohbad’s mother revealed that she fully supports her son’s father in deciding how to honor the late singer, which has surprised many who have followed the case closely.
Mohbad tragically passed away in Lagos on September 12 after an alleged ear infection, leaving fans and family in shock. He was laid to rest in his hometown, Ikorodu, within 24 hours of his passing. At a recent coroner’s inquest, Mohbad’s mother shared her thoughts on the remembrance plans, stating that all decisions regarding the ceremony lie with his father. According to her, the family has opted for a simple remembrance, asking the public to keep Mohbad in their prayers rather than hold an elaborate event. She also urged people to respect the family’s privacy as they continue to grieve.
Mohbad’s mother said, “Whatever Mohbad’s dad says is the final. We don’t want any elaborate celebration over our son’s remembrance. The best you can do is to pray for him. You all should please leave us alone and let us settle our family.”
This statement stirred reactions online, with many expressing their opinions on social media. Some questioned why the singer’s father holds the final say, particularly since Mohbad had a wife.
