Muyiwa Ademola Invests N400M in New Movie, Seeks Public Support

Nollywood actor and producer Muyiwa Ademola has made a bold move in his filmmaking career, investing over N400 million in his upcoming cinema debut, a sequel to his widely acclaimed movie, “Ori”. Scheduled for release in May, the film marks a significant milestone in Ademola’s career as he ventures into the highly competitive cinema market.

In an interview, Ademola emphasized the high production value of the project, assuring fans that they will enjoy the film. He also made a heartfelt appeal to the public, urging Nigerians to support the movie so he can recoup his investment and turn a profit.

“I have spent millions, like over N400 million, investing in my new movie. You will love it and enjoy it. I need to make back my money. I need to make money, I need profit,” he said.

However, the actor humorously added that those who did not enjoy the original “Ori” movie should skip the sequel, playfully acknowledging mixed reactions to the first film.

This major investment highlights the growing trend of high-budget Nollywood productions. Recently, Ademola’s colleague Femi Adebayo also shared his experience of funding his blockbuster “Jagun Jagun” by selling off some of his properties rather than seeking financial aid.

As Nollywood continues to expand, with more filmmakers pushing creative and financial boundaries, Ademola’s N400 million gamble on the “Ori” sequel is a testament to his dedication to the craft. Fans eagerly await its release, hoping it lives up to the expectations set by its predecessor.
