Newcastle Earns Qualification to the UEFA Champion’s League

Despite being the dominant force in the game, Newcastle had to settle for a point as they sealed their top four status for the season with a 0-0 draw as they faced Leicester at St James’ Park.

The draw leaves the Magpies four points clear of Liverpool with one game to be played, meaning Champions League qualification has been secured. While their lead over Manchester United has been cut to a single point with the Red Devils boasting a game in hand.

For Newcastle, that means a return to European football for the first time since a Europa League campaign in 2012/13.
