Nigerian Goalie ‘Arthur Okonkwo’ Signs New Long-term Deal With Arsenal

Arthur Okonkwo has signed a new long-term contract with Arsenal in the next few days.

Okonkwo who has been out of contract at the club last week agreed to a new deal on Friday after fruitful talks between the club and his representatives.

Okonkwo joined Arsenal academy when he was eight years old and he’s gone to represent the club at U17 and U23 levels.

Okonkwo is regarded as one of the best youngest modern shot-stoppers in British football because of his reflexes and ball-playing abilities.

Okonkwo made 14 appearances across all competitions last season, kept seven clean sheets, and conceding 12 goals in the Premier League 2.

There is strong evidence to suggest that Arthur Okonkwo will be Arsenal’s 3rd choice keeper for next season as Mikel Arteta has taken a liking to the youngster.

Okonkwo is still available to represent Nigeria at the international level, although he represents England at the U17 level.
