Nigerian Government Takes Action to Combat Hardship: Nationwide Grain Distribution Announced

In a bid to alleviate the prevailing hardship across Nigeria, the Minister of Agriculture and Food Security, Senator Abubakar Kyari, has unveiled plans for the nationwide distribution of 42,000 metric tons of grains. Endorsed by President Bola Tinubu, this initiative is poised to tackle the escalating food insecurity exacerbated by recent adversities.

Senator Kyari underscored the pivotal collaboration with the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) and the Department of State Service (DSS) to ensure the seamless and equitable distribution of grains to all 36 states of the country. Emphasizing the importance of timely and adequate delivery, the minister reiterated the government’s commitment to prioritizing citizens’ well-being.

In tandem with the grain distribution, Senator Kyari disclosed the release of an additional 58,500 metric tons of milled rice into the market, aimed at stabilizing prices amidst fluctuating market dynamics.

Acknowledging the challenges faced by Nigerians, particularly in the wake of recent incidents such as the looting of foodstuff warehouses, Senator Kyari expressed heartfelt empathy.
