Nigerian Star Davido Refutes Alleged Arrest in Uganda
Nigerian Afrobeat sensation, David Adedeji Adeleke, better known as Davido, has vehemently denied rumors of his purported arrest in Uganda following his concert, labeling the claims as “untrue” and aimed at garnering social media attention.
In a press statement released on Tuesday, Davido expressed his frustration with the false reports, indicating that his legal team is considering taking legal action against those responsible for spreading misinformation about him.
Contrary to earlier reports circulating on Monday, alleging that Davido had been apprehended by authorities in Uganda on drug-related charges after his performance, the music star clarified that he had successfully completed his scheduled shows in both Uganda and Kenya before returning home to Nigeria.
Asserting his innocence, Davido emphasized that he has never faced arrest in any country for any offense, including his home country Nigeria, the United States, or any other nation where he has traveled during his illustrious career.
Davido condemned the fabrication of such serious allegations, particularly emphasizing the irresponsibility of spreading false information, even under the guise of April Fools’ Day. He reiterated his commitment to seeking legal redress against media entities responsible for perpetuating the misinformation.
Expressing gratitude for the unwavering support of his fans, Davido concluded his statement by affirming that his blessings come from God and expressing love for his supporters.
