Nigerian Students Accuse Dangote of Fund Mismanagement, Petition Tinubu
The National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) has raised concerns over the alleged mismanagement of funds at the Cement Technology Institute of Nigeria (CTIN) and has directed their grievances to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. In an open letter addressed to President Tinubu, NANS expressed deep apprehension regarding the misuse of resources within CTIN under the leadership of Aliko Dangote.
NANS accuses Dangote of diverting funds originally allocated for the training and development of Nigerian youth in the cement industry. This alleged misappropriation, according to the student association, has resulted in broken promises, dashed aspirations, and adverse effects on the nation’s economy.
The student body demands transparency, accountability, and justice in the handling of funds allocated to CTIN. They call upon President Tinubu to intervene by instructing the Federal Ministry of Industry, Trade, and Investment to publicly disclose the status and utilization of over ₦20 billion contributed to CTIN over the past decade.
Additionally, NANS advocates for an independent forensic audit of the funds and a restructuring of CTIN’s leadership to prevent future instances of mismanagement.
Furthermore, the students demand clarification from Aliko Dangote regarding his alleged involvement in the mismanagement of funds and urge prompt action to hold those responsible accountable.
NANS emphasizes their determination to pursue justice and prevent similar breaches of public trust in the future, signaling their commitment to ensuring accountability and transparency in the management of resources intended for youth development initiatives.
