The Nollywood community is in mourning following the tragic death of actress and entrepreneur Sharon Okpamen. The news of her passing was confirmed by her colleague, Stanley Ontop, who shared the heartbreaking announcement on his Instagram account on Saturday, August 24, 2024.
Sharon Okpamen, who was also a film producer and a well-known figure in the Edo entertainment industry, was celebrated for her acting skills and humanitarian efforts. Ontop’s post expressed the deep sorrow felt by the Nollywood family and her fans:

While Ontop did not provide specific details about the cause or timing of her death, it was noted that Sharon had given birth approximately three weeks before the announcement. A post by @EdoOnlineTelevision on July 31, 2024, mentioned that she had welcomed a new baby with her husband. However, Sharon herself did not post any updates regarding the birth on her social media, leading to speculation about potential complications after delivery.
Further comments from fans, including one from Prince Selena Small Chop on Ontop’s post, suggested that Sharon may have slipped into a coma following childbirth and tragically never recovered.
