NPFL Player Makes Huge Leap Signs 4-year Deal With Japanese Club

A Nigerian premier league striker, Gabriel Okechukwu has penned a contract worth 2 million dollars with Japanese side, Consadole Sapporo FC on a four year deal from  Water FC of Abuja.

The 25 years old who started his footballing career with Water FC Abuja once had a stint with Akwa United in 2017 before moving to Wydad Casablanca Morocco a year later.

The Super Eagles striker also played on loan for Moroccan side, SC Chabab before returning to Wydad Casablanca where he was a free agent before signing for Sapporo in Japan.

He also played in the Ukrainian league at some point where he scored a goal in four appearances.

Okechukwu scored 2 goals in four appearances for Nigerian CHAN team, a feet which earned him a call up to the Super Eagles for friendlies against Poland and Serbia in 2018.

Consadole finished 10th in the Japanese top division last season, Gabriel Okechukwu is tipped to help the Japanese side go further by winning the league or at least getting a continental ticket and a domestic cup this season.
