NSCDC boss vows to clamp down on troublemakers
The Commandant General, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, Ahmed Audi, has threatened to go after anyone causing mayhem across the country.
This is as he urged Nigerians to be calm, peaceful and to also respect the rule of law in their various activities across the country.
Audi stated this during his working visit to the Ogun State Command of the Corps in Abeokuta, the state capital.
The Public Relations Officer of the NSCDC in Ogun, Dyke Ogbonnaya, in a statement on Thursday, said Audi visited the state on Wednesday.
According to the statement, the NSCDC boss noted that the visit was a professional and routine one meant to check on the welfare of his personnel across the federation.
He was quoted as saying, “My message to Nigerians is that they should be very conscious and should behave well. Nigerians are good people who respect the rule of law; however, we will not hesitate to go after anyone plotting mayhem.”
Audi had earlier visited Governor Dapo Abiodun at his Oke-Mosan office in Abeokuta before he headed for the NSCDC State Headquarters at Owu Dekudu.
“More importantly, he added that the Corps is undergoing several innovative transformations that would pay off in the nearest future, especially by ensuring every personnel gets whatever is due to them as at when due without knowing anyone.
“He encouraged personnel to take up professional courses as this will improve their intellect and enhance their contributions to the security system in the country,” the statement said.
Meanwhile, the NSCDC Commandant in Ogun, David Ojelabi, appreciated the Commandant-General “for his kind gestures and creative ideas aimed at bringing the best out of all personnel of the Corps.”
