NYSC Confirms N77,000 Allowance for Corps Members Starting March

The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has assured corps members that their monthly allowance will be increased to N77,000, starting from March 2025. This confirmation comes six months after the Federal Government approved the increment from the previous N33,000 allowance.

Brigadier General Olakunle Oluseye Nafiu, the NYSC Director-General, made the announcement during an interactive session with corps members at the Wuse and Garki Zonal Offices in Abuja. He reassured them that the Federal Government remains committed to their welfare and that all eligible corps members will receive their payments without delay.

The salary increase was formally approved in a National Salaries, Incomes, and Wages Commission letter dated September 25, 2024, signed by Chairman Ekpo Nta. Nafiu praised the NYSC scheme for fostering national unity and urged corps members to stay disciplined, dedicated, and patriotic.

He further emphasized NYSC’s role in bridging cultural divides and helping young graduates appreciate different traditions and values across Nigeria. He also assured that the organization would continue promoting leadership, teamwork, and moral values among corps members.
