Oba Akamo Lauds Tinubu’s Efforts in Addressing Economic Challenges

Oba Abdulfatai Akamo, the Olu of Itori in Ogun State, has urged Nigerians to exercise patience with the current administration, noting that President Bola Tinubu inherited a challenging economic situation upon assuming office. Speaking during a news conference to mark his 20th Coronation anniversary, the traditional ruler emphasized the need for understanding and support for the policies implemented by the Tinubu-led administration.

Acknowledging the severity of the economic difficulties facing the nation, Oba Akamo expressed confidence in the government’s commitment to steering Nigeria towards prosperity. He commended Tinubu for his decisive action in removing fuel subsidies, describing it as a courageous step towards economic reform.

In his address, Oba Akamo also criticized certain individuals for exacerbating the plight of the masses by inflating prices of essential commodities such as yam, garri, and tomatoes. He questioned the correlation between the exchange rate of the dollar and the local production costs of these items, stressing the need for responsible economic management to alleviate the burden on citizens.
